The multitude of available spaces make viadellafucina16 a multifunctional hub for artistic production and a unique workshop for social innovation.

Artists-in-residency can realize their artworks in all the building’s common spaces:
the entrance hall, the 5 floors staircase, the cellars, the attic, the terrace and the big garden.

THE GARDEN

Thanks to the collective participation of local artists, inhabitants and external volunteers, we brought back the welcoming and cozy atmosphere of the condominium’s garden (more than 200mq), that until recently was reduced to filthy conditions. By conjugating art and nature, gardening is the practice that can open an heterogeneous community to find its harmony. The garden will will host in the next moths many of the events by the artists in residence.

GATEHOUSE AND COFFESHOP

The ex-gatehouse of the building, walled up until few months ago, was reopened to host the project headquarter. The first room hosts the offices where the staff works everyday, together with a group of young community sociologists and psychologists, designated to monitor the entire process of transformation and modelling it, to make it replicable in new contexts.
The second room hosts the condomuseum’s cafe and bookshop.

SezioneAurora

On one of the garden’s sides there’s the collective workshop space SezioneAurora, made of two large rooms, both available to artists as working areas, where to collaborate with artisans and local makers. It also hosts temporary exhibitions.

Idiòt Gallery

Idiòt is a space of 90mq, it’s part of the building and can be accessed directly from via La Salle. It is made of three large rooms that had been recently restored. Its name is inspired to the famous Dostoeveskij’s novel that contains the phrase “beauty will save the world”.
The space hosts temporary exhibitions, talks, lectures and workshops of viadellafucina16.

GuestHouse

An apartment on the first floor hosts the artists in residence: two bed rooms, kitchen and bathroom.
